Chinh E. Chu is a Senior Managing Director in the Corporate Private Equity group and is based in New York. Since joining Blackstone in 1990, Mr. Chu has led Blackstone’s investments in Celanese, Nalco, SunGard, Nycomed, and LIFFE. He has also been involved in Blackstone’s investments in FGIC, Graham Packaging, Sirius Satellite Radio, StorageApps, Haynes International, Prime Succession/Rose Hills, Interstate Hotels, HFS, and Alco Holdings.  Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Chu worked at Salomon Brothers in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department. Mr. Chu received a BS in Finance from the University of Buffalo, where he graduated summa cum laude. Mr. Chu serves as a Director of Celanese, Nalco, SunGard, Graham Packaging, and FGIC.

Matthew Kabaker is a Principal in the Corporate Private Equity group and is based in New York. Since joining Blackstone in 1998, Mr. Kabaker has been involved in Blackstone’s investments in the London International Financial Futures & Options Exchange (“LIFFE”), Aspen Insurance, Ariel Re, HealthMarkets, TRW Automotive, Financial Guaranty Insurance Company (“FGIC”), SunGard, and Michaels Stores. Mr. Kabaker received a BA in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Kabaker serves as a Director of Ariel Re, TRW Automotive, FGIC, HealthMarkets, and Michaels Stores.

John Cavoores is a Senior Advisor in the Corporate Private Equity Group focusing on the firm’s investments in the insurance industry. Mr. Cavoores has over 27 years of experience in the global insurance industry. Prior to joining Blackstone in 2006, Mr. Cavoores was the Chief Executive Officer of OneBeacon Insurance Group, a subsidiary of White Mountains. Prior to that Mr. Cavoores was President and Chief Operating Officer of National Union Insurance Company, a highly successful specialty company within AIG. Mr. Cavoores started his career at Chubb where he rose to Managing Director in charge of all Chubb’s operations outside the US and Chairman of Chubb Insurance Company of Europe. Prior to that, he was Co-Chief Underwriting Officer in charge of Chubb’s worldwide specialty underwriting.  Mr. Cavoores has a BA in economics from Holy Cross and attended the Wharton Executive Management Program.

Jerold Hall serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Alliant Insurance Services, Inc. He also serves as President of Driver Commercial Group, the company's west coast commercial insurance group. In addition, Mr. Hall sits on the Board of Directors of Alliant Insurance Services. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Hall’s responsibilities are principally focused on the management of the retail brokerage sales operations and all related operational activities. He joined Alliant Insurance Services (then named Robert F. Driver Company) in 1988 as a surety broker and assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer in 1996. Mr. Hall began his insurance career in 1981 after earning his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, majoring in business administration and psychology. In 1993, he received his master’s degree in business administration from San Diego State University.
