Board of Directors: Alliant Insurance Services

Chinh E. Chu is a Senior Managing Director in the Corporate Private Equity Group and is based in New York. Since joining Blackstone in 1990, Mr. Chu has led Blackstone’s investments in Celanese, Nalco, SunGard, Nycomed, and LIFFE. He has also been involved in Blackstone’s investments in FGIC, Graham Packaging, Sirius Satellite Radio, StorageApps, Haynes International, Prime Succession/Rose Hills, Interstate Hotels, HFS, and Alco Holdings. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Chu worked at Salomon Brothers in Mergers and Acquisitions. Mr. Chu received a BS in finance from the University of Buffalo, where he graduated summa cum laude. He currently serves as a Director of Celanese, Nalco, SunGard, Graham Packaging, and FGIC.

Michael Dal Bello is a Managing Director in the Corporate Private Equity Group. Since joining Blackstone in 2002, Mr. Dal Bello has been involved with Blackstone’s investments in Alliant Insurance Services, Apria Healthcare Group, Biomet, Catalent Pharmaceutical Solutions, Global Tower Partners, Houghton Mifflin, Montecito Broadcast Group, Sithe Global, Team Health, The Nielsen Companies (formerly VNU), and Vanguard Health Systems. He currently focuses on investments in the healthcare, insurance, and professional services industries. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Dal Bello was an Associate at Hellman & Friedman where he was involved with the analysis and execution of private equity investments in the media and professional services sectors. Mr. Dal Bello received a BA in International Relations and a BS in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He was selected as a Thouron Scholar to attend Oxford University where he received an MA. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Dal Bello is a member of The Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Advisory Board of the Youth Advocacy Center in New York.

John P. Cavoores is a Senior Advisor in the Corporate Private Equity Group, focusing on the firm’s investments in the insurance industry. Mr. Cavoores has more than 27 years of experience in the global insurance industry. Prior to joining Blackstone in 2006, Mr. Cavoores was Chief Executive Officer of OneBeacon Insurance Group, a subsidiary of White Mountains. Prior to that Mr. Cavoores was President and Chief Operating Officer of National Union Insurance Company, a highly successful specialty company within AIG. Mr. Cavoores started his career at Chubb where he rose to Managing Director in charge of all of Chubb’s operations outside the U.S. and Chairman of Chubb Insurance Company of Europe. Prior to that, he was Co-Chief Underwriting Officer in charge of Chubb’s worldwide specialty underwriting. Mr. Cavoores has a BA in economics from Holy Cross and attended the Wharton Executive Management Program.

Thomas Corbett serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alliant Insurance Services, Inc. In addition, he sits on the Board of Directors of Alliant Insurance Services. Mr. Corbett joined Alliant Insurance Services (then named Robert F. Driver Company) in 1977 as a producer and launched the company’s Newport Beach-based public entity group. Prior to joining Alliant Insurance Services, Mr. Corbett was with Allendale Insurance in Los Angeles and spent three years as a loss prevention engineer at Factory Mutual Engineering Association. Mr. Corbett is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach.

Jerold Hall serves as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Alliant Insurance Services, Inc., and sits on the company’s board of directors. His responsibilities are principally focused on the national sales and service operations, working with the operating groups to drive best practices throughout the organization. Mr. Hall joined Alliant Insurance Services (then known as the Robert F. Driver Company) in 1988 as a surety broker and assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer in 1996. He began his insurance career in 1981 after earning his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, where he majored in business administration and psychology. In 1993, Mr. Hall received his master’s degree in business administration from San Diego State University.

Greg Zimmer serves as President and Chief Financial Officer of Alliant Insurance Services, Inc., and is a member of the company’s board of directors. In conjunction with other members of senior management, Mr. Zimmer is responsible for implementing the strategic direction of the firm. He also is responsible for corporate operations and all mergers and acquisitions activity. Prior to joining Alliant Insurance Services, Mr. Zimmer and his partners built a significant financial services firm that ultimately was sold to GMAC, where he served as Senior Vice President. His career also includes corporate finance and venture capital experience while serving as Vice President at Security Pacific, which ultimately merged with Bank of America. Mr. Zimmer holds a bachelor’s degree in economics/systems science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a master’s degree from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
